Kusum Khandro Ling,
Tulku Sang-ngag Rinpoche's retreat center for nuns, was was
established in Pharping in 2001. In February of 2002, Rinpoche
and Rabjam Rinpoche (of Shechen Monastery, the late H.H.
Dilgo Khyentse's seat in Boudanath) formally sealed eight
nuns into traditional three-year retreat. They began their
time with the practice of lojong for twenty-one days, followed
by accumulating ngondro. The nuns are now completing their
final ngondro accumulations for guru yoga.
Concurrent with these retreat activities, Khenpo Ngawang Gelek
is teaching Longchen Rabjam's Yonten Dzod ("Treasury of
Precious Qualities"), as well as lojong. Tulku Sang-ngag
and Kyabje Tulku (a student of H.H. Chatral Rinpoche), gave
the retreatants practice instructions for both lojong and Longchen
Nyingtig ngondro. In retreat, the nuns follow tije^same schedule
as the monks, and also study lama dancing.
